Phuket Rental Areas:
Phuket is split into 5 areas.
Phuket Island Interior – Much of the mountainous island interior remains untouched. The magnificent Loch Palm Golf course is in the centre of the island and is surrounded by pool villas for rent. These villas are not only popular with golfers, but also long term residents with children at the British International School situated nearby.
Phuket's West Coast - Blessed with long stretches of soft sand beaches, small protected coves, clean crystal water and dramatic headlands. The majority of Phuket’s tourist industry and most luxurious villas and apartments are located here.
Phuket's Northern Areas – The northern parts of the island are largely unpopulated and have long deserted beaches, waterfalls and rubber plantations. A few hotels have now been developed, but there are few villas or apartments for rent.
Phuket's East Coast –With spectacular views of the thousands of islands dotting Phang-Nga Bay, the east coast is becoming an exclusive residential address. The protected waters of Phang-Nga Bay are ideal for sailing and watersports. There are no beaches on the East Coast so this has been one of the last areas to be developed for tourists, however there are now some exclusive villas and apartments for rent. For many people the views of Phang Nga far outweigh the disadvantage of having limited access to beaches.
Phuket's South – The southern areas are picturesque, offering the east coast views with west coast beach conditions. Southern Phuket is furthest away from the airport and the main marinas and so over the years it has become known as the more laid back and bohemian part of the island. There are many luxurious vlla and apartment developments which are often cheaper to rent than commensurate property on the west coast.
Eventually people seem to find their favourite area and keep coming back or decide to stay for good.
