Phuket To Do:

Many people come to Phuket simply to stay in luxurious tropical accomodation, enjoy the beaches, feast on the thai food and just chill out for their annual holiday. Phuket has though a lot more to offer.  The major highlights are sight seeing in Phang Nga, Golf, Spas and all manner of water sports. Due to the comparatively low costs, growing in popularity is the medical tourism industry. As a local, you often hear of visitors planning extensive dental work whilst in Phuket, which even having paid all their holiday costs is still cheaper than having treatment in Europe. 

Phang Nga

The magnificence of the limestone karsts jutting out of Phang Nga is a vision not to be missed and there are many different boat trips available to suit all budget levels. If there is one thing everyone must do before leaving Phuket it is to witness the splendour of Phang Nga.

Golf

Phuket boasts 6 international standard golf courses including Blue Canyon Country Club, which was host to the Johnnie Walker Classic in 2007.  Phuket is a favourite place for golfing enthusiasts with all clubs allowing visitors to simply pay and play.  If you're coming from Europe you'll appreciate the demure yet often extremely knowledgeable caddies and the lushness of the grounds. Often groups of players will come to Phuket and play a different golf course each day.

Spas

This is what Thailand is famous for. Massage is part of daily life here, it's not a treat like it often is in western countries. Spas are everywhere in Phuket and you can pay from just a few hundred baht for a local's massage to thousands of baht for the ultimate in luxury and personalised treatments. For the brave, a Thai massage will stretch every muscle and leave you feeling like you've had a work out, or for a more western experience opt for an oil massage which is normally more gentle. A foot massage after golf is a firm favourite amongst the local expats.

Water sports

Whatever variation of water sports you love somewhere in Phuket it will be on offer. Sea Canoeing, scuba diving, fishing, sailing, surfing, kitesurfing, jetskis..........the list goes on!
